I founded The Retail Law Group because I have a passion for representing retail businesses, large and small, and I saw a way to better serve those businesses beyond the walls of a large law firm. I combine nearly 20 years of experience as a strong and competent litigator with a passion for understanding your business and representing it with strength, respect, and integrity. I believe in exceptional legal representation, but I also believe in leaving the world, and your business, better than I found it.
When I’m not serving the legal community, I’m passionate about fueling the success of women in law and business, and finding ways to give back to our community so that we can leave this world a better place than we found it.
At the heart of what I do - whether it be in law or life - lies a passion for people, fueled by the love and support of my own family and the collective world around me.

Michelle is an experienced commercial and business litigator who regularly provides counsel on matters pertaining to retail law, commercial litigation, business disputes, and negligence matters. Bringing nearly 20 years of tenacity, dedication, and first-chair trial experience in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, Michelle finds creative opportunities to resolves cases and avoid costly litigation. But when litigation is imminent, Michelle is strong to push her opponents while always maintaining integrity and honesty in the profession. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is an active member and Past President of the Columbus chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and she has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades over her career.
Teresa Scharf

Teresa Scharf is an OSBA Certified Paralegal with specialties in Tort Practice and Probate & Estate matters. Over her twenty (20) years of experience as a litigation paralegal and thirty-four years overall in the legal services profession, Teresa possesses a wealth of knowledge and understanding across the legal spectrum and is proficient in state and federal court procedures. She holds a degree in Paralegal Studies, cum laude. From 2009 to 2024, she served as Chair of the Paralegal Association of Central Ohio (“PACO”) Pro Bono Committee, and led its Pro Bono Wills Clinic program, having been recognized with several awards locally and nationally. Teresa is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Paralegal Certification Board and Paralegal Committee, and she serves on advisory boards for PACO and for the Paralegal Studies Program at Columbus State Community College. She is also separately certified as an authorized Remote Online Notary.
